SPRING SUMMER 2023 - THE PLEASURE OF RUINS

THE PLEASURE OF RUINS tells the story of the beautiful, chaotic process behind any mess, wreck or fallen civilization.  Did the Romans have some good times along the way before their empire fell to ruins?  This is one of the questions posed by Creative Director Mark McGinnis, who looks at a broken statue or pile of trash and sees a history of great design, engineering, culture, or at the very least, the simple virtue of human interaction.  As many have said, it is the journey, not the destination, and while we all look squarely in the face of disaster, we can look around in wonder at those who are creating, dancing or otherwise enjoying themselves as the ship is busy sinking.
